The idea behind the name Craving Couture was coined back in 2004/05 (it’s going back a while now, so those days seem a little hazy…), by my then boyfriend now husband, whilst I was saving for my first European holiday. I was fresh out of Uni, interning 9-6pm, Monday to Friday, at a magazine company getting paid in experience, magazines and $50 a day for the shear love of it. Whilst working weekends and public holidays at a clothing store and eating 2 minute brown rice and tuna most days to afford the trip.

With all my money spent towards my European vacay, not much was left for clothes! So entered my love for vintage! Price points for pre-loved or vintage clothing, back then were reasonable and every now and then I would stumble upon a rare gem, like my snake skin Ferragamo handbag from the 80s. Which sparked an addiction for vintage ‘couture’ designers pieces.
